PITTSBURGH - Congratulations to the Sister Thea Bowman Catholic Academy (STBCA) Varsity Boys Trailblazers who won back-to-back PA State Championships (2012 and 2013). This year's state tournament was held March 20-22, 2013 in Pittsburgh at Central Catholic High School where STBCA defended its top ranking in the state. On the road to the championship, the Trailblazers defeated Our Mother of Sorrows School from Altoona-Johnstown, then Our Lady of Peace from Erie in the second round. And in a hard fought battle for the championship before an energetic and enthusiastic crowd, STBCA successfully defended their state championship title against St. Maximilian Kolbe from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The Trailblazers were victorious with a score of 54-52. STBCA is in its third year of operation. The STBCA Varsity Boys are coached by Hubert Felton and Vaughn Wallace. Way to go, Blazers!!!
